SPEED KILLS and pacquiao will probably move in and out punching cotto from every angle but cotto’s defense will be tough thou! but i tell you this, Pacquiao vs Diaz will probably be a good example of the fight! watch that fight!
BEST FIGHT (in my opinion) : second bout will Juan Manuel Marquez EPIC! and not the overated HATTON!

I say PACQUIAO in 10th round stopage cuz cotto’s a tough nut to crack, but i think speed and power of manny will be the key of this fight for him!
Cotto’s key to pull the upset is his size, POWER! little bit more speed and footmovent and able to dance around with pacquiao in the ring!

Manny is going to win an easy fight. It will be a bull vs. matador fight. Cotto has the power advantage but will never really hit Pacquiao much for the entire night because Pacquiao is wayyy faster (not just hand speed but foot speed. It will be a TKO in the 10th or 11th due to cuts. Cotto is a bleeder. He is also still psychologically damaged from his Margarito fight. He has a new inexperienced trainer who isn’t up to this challenge. He also will be sapped of energy because he agreed to fight at a lower weight and he is a big welter weight. Clottey has exposed him as very vulnerable
One additional note…Cotto is the bigger stronger guy and one may wonder if Pacquiao can take his blows. Pacquiao and Roach aren’t insane. he will not stand in front of Cotto and just trade. Cotto will have a hard time finding him to hit him. His footwork…lateral movement will make him very elusive

Pacquiao will win and surprise everyone as usual. He will KO Cotto on the 5th or on the 9th. If Cotto gets cut early, he gets KOed on the 5th, otherwise, Cotto loses gas and gets KOed on the 9th.
Cotto is big and strong but is flat footed and has lost some confidence. Pacquiao has quick hands (flurry) and feet (in and out movements) which will give Cotto an early cut, or in the very least win score card points. For Cotto to land good solid shots, he needs the opponent to stand in front of him, but Pacquiao will never be stationary. I don’t see Cotto using his weight (he is not really taller than Pacquiao) and strength if he cannot pin Pacquiao against the ropes. Also, Cotto tends to lose gas in the late rounds.

Believe it or not they are both around the same height and same reach.LOOK IT UP.I see Cotto losing by late round TKO because basically Pacman is well amazing and to the guy who said Pacman stands in front of you obviously did not watch the Dah la hoya or Hatton fight.Freddy roach has drastically changed Pacman’s style for the better. Also Pacman knocked David diaz and ricky hatton out Flat and he made oscar quit afte only 7 or 8 rounds.you don’t do that if you are weak.Pacqiuao has really good power and Cotto gets tired easily in the late rounds. What will Cotto do when Pacman starts punching him so much like he did everyone else. The only reason Cotto lasted so long with Margarito was because Margarito is a sloppy fighter.Trust me Pacquiao wil win by late KO

Margarito koed out Cotto with cheat gloves and only in the 10th(I think) round. Margarito is very tall, he could be a middle or super middleweight so a short dude like Pacquiao will not ko Cotto is simple physics. On the other hand Cotto can easily ko Pacquiao. So I think the best option for winning of Pacquiao is decision, that’s it(split or unanimous) and he can do that and I know that’s his strategy to win by decision. If Pacquiao goes monkey and tries to knockout Cotto, Cotto will knockout him instead. Cotto had had fought quick southpaw fighters before like Zab Jabudah and Shane Mosley………you people are understimating Cotto.
BTW….Cotto started training like a month before Pacquiao so for that, Cotto will be super ready on November although is in Las Vegas and that’s homecourt advantage for Pacquiao.
In conclusion, Pacquiao will win via decision if he can frustrate Cotto with his speed and hit and run tactics or Cotto can win via ko by cornering Pacquiao and hitting him hard. Whomever impose his strategy on the other will win. I pick Cotto because he has what it takes to beat Pacquiao and by the way, Mexican and Puertorrican boxers are the best in the world.

Interesting perspectives you pose here and from the answer you received.
I am puertorican but have never been a huge Cotto fan and I consider myself to be very objective when it comes to boxing.
The way I see this fight is like this. Cotto is bigger, stronger guy. While Pacquiao does have the speed advantage, he is not known for using that to his advantage. Case point, the Morales fights. He lost the first one and though they said he had problems and other issues distracting him from the fight, he fought right in front of Morales and Morales was the one pushing him back. Second fight was the same thing although this time he wore Morales down but he never used his speed to box. Same thing on the Marquez’s fights. Marquez was the one going back and counter punching. And although a lot of people believe Marquez won both fights it was shown that Pacquiao is not as good going back as he is when he is the one putting the pressure. On the de la Hoya fight, he boxed a little more because he knew he was the smaller man so that was a smart strategy but de la Hoya was slow and old and didnt cut the ring enough to get to Pacquiao.
Now on the Cotto side, he does box a little bit although he likes to brawl. Cotto has lots of problems with guys that come in and out (watch the middle rounds of the Malignaggi fight) so if Pacquiao fights the same way he fought de la Hoya, I think he has a good chance. Cotto is faster and stronger than de la Hoya so that will be a big difference in this fight. He does have an inexperienced trainer which might be detrimental to him. I dont think he will get tired or have stamina issues because of the lower weight since he has never reached 147 since he moved up in weight. He usually weighs in at 146 so I dont think the 145 limit will have a big impact. It wont be as with de la Hoya who had to come down from 154-160. If Cotto tires during the fight it will be because of a lack of preparation. Cotto’s defense is weak. Although he fights well going back, his elbows are wide open for an uppercut. So Pacquiao should exploit this and add uppercuts to his hooks.
I think Cotto has a punchers chance to win the fight, that is if he is able to pressure and catch Pacquiao like Morales and Marquez did. He needs to stay away from the ropes instead of sitting there like in the Margarito fight. Margarito did beat Cotto pretty bad and psychologically that has to be still there although it suspicious because of the hand wrap incident that happened on the Mosley fight.
On the other hand, Pacquiao should use his speed and try box and not brawl. If he is able to come in and out all night, he should be able to win the fight.
If it goes by knock out, it will Cotto knocking out Pacquiao. I dont think Pacquiao has the power to knock out Cotto in the bigger weight classes. Dont get me wrong now, Pacquiao is a really strong puncher but he hasnt been proven at welterweight. He anihilated Hatton at 140 but Hatton is a come forward fighter, easy to hit. Cotto wont be so easy to hit. Besides, he couldnt knock out de la Hoya. He got the knock out but in my book, a fighter giving up is not being knocked out.
Also, Pacquiao hasnt really been hit with a welterweight’s punch and Cotto is a hard puncher. Also Cotto’s signature punch is the left hook to the body. Got to http://www.boxrec.com and look at Pacquiao’s record. Then youtube the fight he lost He was knocked out twice early in his career by body punches. This might not mean anything at this stage but still makes you think if he is soft to the body.
My call, it can go either way. If it goes to Cotto, knockout. Pacquiao, decision
